On Monday 21st we only had a journey of about 100 kms but we were still on the road by 9.30. It had stayed dry overnight which meant it was much easier to pack dry awnings etc away. The road was quite quiet apart from some other caravans. Lately on our journeys we have been listening to the CD version of Julie Walter’s autobiography called ‘That’s Another Story’. It was a Christmas present but we had been saving it for some of our longer journeys. However, once we started listening we were hooked as it’s very funny. So the time whizzed by as Julie entertained us with her hilarious exploits. We were heading to Coffin Bay – perhaps a somewhat macabre name for a village and National Park? Coffin Bay is not the most appealing of names for a town (and they had a corker of a tourism promotion), but it is indeed a delight - especially for avid fisher folk like ourselves. We plugged power into John and Cherie’s shack on the water and enjoyed a few truly pleasurable days. Mother’s Day in a caravan is terrific and for the first time in my 10 years as a mother, the kids cooked a culinary delight of scrambled eggs on toast and coffee which tasted fantastic - not the cold toast and lukewarm tea of previous years, that’s for sure! 29-3-10 Up & packed up this morning & we decided to stop & see The Haystacks about 40 kms from Streaky Bay. It was fascinating, these big rocks sticking out of the ground in the middle of nowhere shaped like haystacks. We got out of the car & Annie was still not well, she was quiet all day, wandered around the Haystacks & found a few more in the trees, it was good. Today is cool & we are dreading heading down to Port Lincoln as it is a lot cooler down there.
