Flew in from Brisbane this morning. Checked in, dropped our bags and found Central Market. Great selection of fresh fruit veg meat bread, you name it, it's here! Huge plates of lamb and chicken gyros 😊 think we are going to love Adelaide.

Had a wander late afternoon and sat in Waiyu Yarta Park just south of the Central Market area. Very peaceful.

Wednesday 4th Feb: public transport is free in the city and North Adelaide areas so we hopped on a bus from the centre and headed over the river padding the new cricket oval and into some of the older suberbs around Hill St, Gover St and Wellington Square. Nice old style houses with tin roofed verandas. Then walked along Torrens River, along part of War Memorial Drive and down King William Road to the government buildings and museums on North Terrace.
Thursday 5th Feb: took the tram ride out to Glenelg on the coast. Nice little seaside town where The Queen & Prince Philip docked the Britainnia on their tours in 1977 and 1987. Some nice old traditional buildings. Lovely clean beaches. Watched a beach handball competition, soaked up some rays then headed back to Adelaide

Couldn't resist this. Went to The Hogs Breath Cafe on Gouge St. Only wanted a beer and a cider but we were told we had to take a table and eat if we wanted alcohol. Just had 2 small potato skins but then we saw the puds 😀 Lesley had black forest with vanila & choc ice cream and cherry sauce and mine was Apple Crumble with vanilla ice cream, custard, cream, stewed apple and crumble pieces. Heck, it was so good. Glad we stopped for a drink 😊

Lots of park areas in Adelaide. This one, by the Torrens Rivera and just minutes for North Terrace, was particularly nice and peaceful and immaculately kept.
