Sculptures
These crash test dummy sculptures were a little creepy. Now, although this entry is about the first day of our Great Ocean Road tour, we didn’t actually see the Great Ocean Road until our second day. Sorry to disappoint, but our next entry will have plenty about it!
We had just finished our Kangaroo Island tour on the 25th, and still had one day left in Adelaide. Hill and I used this time to enjoy an awesome pancake breakfast, and do a bit of shopping. In regards to shopping, it was my turn to finally pick up a sweatshirt. We’d been chilled a good chunk of the time here in the southern half of Australia, and it was finally time to cave in and buy something warm. Of course it being spring, there wasn’t too much to choose from. We finally found a nice pink coloured zip-up sweatshirt and for a bargain price too. I was hesitant to buy it, but Hillary convinced me that I could pass it off as a manly “salmon” colour. Of course the second I bought it, she was sure to tease me about my new pink sweatshirt.
That afternoon we went to check out the Haigh’s Chocolate factory. Unfortunately we missed all

Talk about convenient having the factory right in the city. the tours, but it was still great to see it on our own. The assembly line floor is set up in a way that allows visitors to see into the factory and get a good idea how their chocolate is made. It was a cool to see, but the best part was being able to buy cheap gourmet chocolate (which was on sale due to visual imperfections).
Tuesday was the day we left Adelaide, and started our tour to Melbourne! It didn’t feel like we had spent all that much time in South Australia, but it was time to move on if we wanted to give ourselves enough time to see Melbourne, Tasmania and Canberra.
We started things off with a lot of driving. In fact, we left around 7am, and spent the whole morning on the road. By 4pm, we had stopped for lunch, dropped by the supermarket to pick up dinner for that night, and finally arrived at Mackenzie Falls, which is part of the Grampians National Park. Waterfalls are just so amazing, and the amount of water that falls is just mind boggling sometimes. After this, we went to some lookouts on the top of

Great common room. the mountains for some spectacular views. These mountain ranges were really quite awesome.
That evening we headed to the hostel in Halls Gap for dinner and a bit of time to just hang out. This tour we actually had a few people who had done the very same Kangaroo Island tour with Hillary and I just a few days before hand, so it gave even more time to get to know each other. We didn’t stay up too late though, because we’d be up nice and early that next morning.
