Hi People,
We had another nice lie in, and again the wonderful Kaye had breakfast laid out for us.
We were leaving Kaye and Rodger today; our time there had been amazing. Before we left, Rodger wanted to show us Glenelg, a town which was close by.
We drove about 30 minutes there passing through a few other towns all named after English cities. Once we got there we found it was an amazing place.
This was where the first settlers of Adelaide landed before moving in towards Adelaide. It is like a retirement area, however has everything you could want there (well for us two old souls), bric a brac shops, restaurants, bars and much more. We walked along the beach with Rodger, saw the pier and came to a small harbor where we had a cup of tea (I had a beer) and some chips. It was so nice and relaxing.
We had brought our luggage with us, as there was a tram from Glenelg to Adelaide city Centre. We said our good byes and headed into town. This tram was every 15 min’s
and 100% worth heading out there for lunch or a day on the beach there!!
Once in town we headed to our hostel ‘Tatts Backpackers hostel’ on Hindley Street (Cheapest one we could find), this is off King William Street and opposite Rundle Street the main shopping street. We had found the hostel the day before so we knew how to get there straight away (nothing worse than lugging the bags around looking for a place).
Once there we checked in and had an 8 people dorm for the night, it seemed clean, people were nice enough so we were happy enough!!
So in Australia they have a thing called tight ass Tuesday, this means if you book up a tour you get 10% off, so I phoned up and the woman said it doesn’t run in the peak season, however I pushed her to talk to her manager and 30 min’s later phoned me back saying its fine and we could have it off so we were then booked on the Ocean road tour and Grampians for the next day!!
Vick was not feeling the best when
we arrived at the hostel so I went for a wander around Adelaide- it is a small place but full to the brim with shops and things to do. I wanted to give Vick a pick me up so brought her some Melbourne breakfast tea (her fav from the tea shop T2 we kept going in for free tasters).
I headed back and she felt better, had a smile from her present and was starving so we headed out for dinner.
After wandering around for a while, we found the best bargain in the world…a porterhouse steak, chips/mash and Veg/salad plus a pint for $15. We snapped it up and it was a really good steak and made us very happy.
We headed back and were both shattered so both went to bed.
Thanks for reading all,
Love N&V X
