Airlie Beach and the Whitsundays
we left bowen without work. we wanted to do a trip to the whitsundays and then look for work again. mango season is starting in a few weeks so if we dont find anything else we can come back for that.
so next stop airlie beach. a beautiful place really. the colour of the water is just insane. we arrived quite late so we got some food and had a nice bbq at the beach. we wanted to sort out what trip we do the next day and that isnt that easy as u can do 500 different once. in the end we decided to go on a boat called pride of airlie. it is was a 3 days trip and we stayed at one of the islands. sleeping on the boat would have been way more expensive. the rest of day we spend doing some sport and going swimming in the sea just so nice 😊 we went to a club after another bbq as we wouldnt leave till 12 the next day.
we got stinger suits, snorkeling gear and then left for the trip. first day we went to a snorkel
spot and sailed to the island where we stayed the nights. the island was very nice with beach, palm trees and so on. paradise :P
we had quite an early night after the first proper dinner for ages and some drinks. jonas and me got up at 4.30 to go to the top of an hill to see the sunrise. very early and it was dark when we started to walk through the rain forest but the sunrise was really worth it. after that we had a nice run at the beach and then breakfast at seven and we left with the boat at 8. we went first to a really nice snorkeling spot and then went to whitehaven beach. the clearest beach in the world. 98 % silica (2nd clearest is 84%). it is so clear that it doesn't get to hot to walk on whatever the sun is like and if lightning hits the beach it turns into glass. it looked amazing and it was so soft when u walked over it. just an amazing place. you can guess from the photos.
after we spend some hours at this beautiful place we sailed back to the
island
first sun of the day island and had a few drinks. the next morning we went to the very north end of the whitsundays. a good spot for turtles. which means lots of yellyfish in the water. a saw some from the boat but not while snorkeling. sadly...it was still a very good trip with some amazing place
today we have the first time really rain since i am in oz. but it is still really warm so u dont really mind getting wet. we will look for work here now. i think we should be able to find something in airlie beach or on one of the islands.... it would be nice to work in paradise
