Didn't sleep very well. This often happens when I've had alcohol the night before, so I got up and did some errands rather than waste the morning in bed. We spent so much money yesterday by booking our sailing trip, coaches and flights that I'm now a whole week over budget. Chatted to Alley and Ashley back in the dorm about what a great night we'd had last night. They're lovely girls and I hope to meet them again if I come back to Oz later this year. It was too hot to sunbathe for long and we had an Introduction meeting for our sailing trip at 1.30. They went over the itinerary for the next few days and told us any rules they had on the boat. There were lots of familiar faces I recognised at the meeting, pretty much everyone who was out last night. "Cute Guy Number 3" was there and I was horrified at just how young he looked - I doubted he was a day over 18! Thank god I didn't go there! Even the annoying Skinny German from last night was there which meant he'd be sharing my boat for the next few days. Not
the blame if he goes overboard.
One of their rules was that boxes of Goon (cheap wine here in Oz) must be tipped in to 2 litre bottles. This is so they can keep an eye on alcohol consumption. Me and Ellie were so excited for the trip and had a big hug and got giddy, before our nice stroll to the Marina. The sea was deep turqoise and looked beautiful with the bright blue sky. We talked to a Danish girl who'd had a nightmare with the floods on Fraser Island. I'm kind of glad we decided to miss this out, and hopefully I'll go another time when I come back to Oz.
We were disappointed there were no hotties on our boat, but there were a few cool girls from Edinburgh that we got chatting to who seemed like fun. One of the staff, a funny Australian guy, went over the Safety precautions. He got all the boys to line up and Moon a rival boat we passed. Lay back on the front of the deck drinking my Rose - a guy told me I looked the prefect image of "relaxed". The boat pulled up in the sea
and we went Snorkelling. The water wasn't that clear but it was an amazing experience. I managed to get my breathing right too which was good considering it was my first time.
When we got to Koala Adventure Island, where we were staying for the next two nights, we grouped together with the Edinburgh girls (Lauren, Karen and Sarah) to share a dorm. The staff were throwing a Jungle themed party for us tonight so us girls went out to collect leaves, sticks, flowers - anything we could use to get dressed up with. We stole some toast from boys on the way home as we were all starving. Getting ready was fun. Lauren was good at make up so drew stripes on our faces with eyeliner.
The staff from the boat got us lots of free jugs of larger and cocktails and had us playing drinking games. Dinner was a buffet of steak, rice, salad etc and the food was great. Ellie thought she'd lost her bag but it turned out she'd left it in someone's dorm. After dinner they told us we were going to race frogs. It sounded like fun until they pulled these frogs from a
small box and I didn't like the way they handled them at all. I was shocked these frogs had elastic bands around them with number tags, and one even had a miniture Mexican Hat strapped to it's head! Appalled, I watched these poor frogs get leered at and get camera flashes in their faces. I lost my temper and chucked my drink at the guy organising it all. I should have walked away rather than throwning my drink, but I couldn't help it - I was so mad! One of the staff came over to see what the problem was but I was too cross to speak to him and instead walked off back to the dorms.
