We said our goodbyes to Gaz for the final time and we got our bus to Rainbow Beach. We hadn't pre booked any accomodation, so as we got there we looked around. There was only 3 hostels to choose from all next to each other and as 2 of them were full up we were only left with one to stay in. We checked in and went to the beach for a few hours until we got blown by the sand and decided to sunbathe on the grass at the back of the beach. We bumped into the welsh guys from surfers paradise so we met them later on in the bar. We had a competition downing jugs of beer and I failed coming 3rd out of 4.

Sun bathed by the pool this morning. We had a healthy eating day eating salad for both lunch and tea. We rented a boomerang from the hostel and attempted to throw them. We didn't do very well only a few coming back to us. They were mainly veering off and getting close to people's heads and car windows, so we stopped before we caused some damage. We said bye to the welsh lads as we wouldn't cross paths again and I invited them to the stag do. ha. We then went on a walk to a sand blow. A group of us from the hostel went on the 30 minute walk. We didn't quite know what to expect but it was pretty impressive. We walked through woods until we reached the clearing which was a massive valley of sand leading down to the sea. It was called the Carlo Sandblow which was named after one of Captain Cooks crew men, like everything else in Australia. We drew patterns in the 'Rainbow' coloured sand and watched the sun set.

We were leaving today at lunch time to go to Hervery Bay, so we just sat round the pol whilst some girl played on her guitar and sang. She was very good, playing all good songs, it was nice and relaxing. Arrived at Hervey Bay, staying at the palace hostel. Had our group meeting at 16.00 where we met everyone going to Fraser Island. There was about 43 of us together (double the size they normally take), they put us into our groups, there were 6 of us and all English luckily and could all drive, these were the groups we were to stay in, in our 4x4's. Two guys, Chris and Craig, and two girls, Laura and Jess. They all seemed up for a laugh. We then had to go food shopping together, buying our food for the next three days. So we stocked up on booze first, obviously the most important ingredient. M x
