Feeling tired and a bit weary this morning after our late night shenanigans yesterday. To top it off, the weather hasn’t improved which leaves us in a dilemma. We don’t know whether to continue on with our 2 day Noosa kayaking tour or not. We check the weather forecast for the next few days and it pretty much confirms it will be torrential rain and thunderstorms. Greg phones the tour guide to see what he suggests and he tells Greg rather rudely that basically we can either do it in the rain or cancel without refund. We figure as we don’t have any waterproofs and you can’t really hold an umbrella while kayaking we should cancel the tour. We got it for free anyway so we aren’t losing any money, but it’s still a shame as we were really looking forward to it. Our itenary is completely mucked up anyway so it doesn’t make a difference that we will be moving North a bit quicker than expected. Where to now is our next question? It’s exciting and fun not knowing where you’ll be from one place to the next (unless you have autism of course). We head up towards Rainbow beach and then decide to stay the evening at Tin Can Bay (about 30km away).

Rainbow beach is one of the smallest towns we have been to yet- it literally has a post office, pub, local shop and café and that’s about it. It is a renowned surfing beach though and the waves do look good, but we’ll need to see how much time we have… There are only 3 hostels in Rainbow beach (more than I would have expected) and not surprisingly they are all booked out. We end up in a caravan park at Tin Can Bay instead. Tin Can Bay is pretty but just as small as Rainbow beach, with seemingly no resident under 60 years old. Perhaps Saga do a nice package holiday here? Our little cabin has an ensuite (a luxury to us these days) and a T.V woohoo. Feel like we are living the highlife. Welcome to the world of hostel living. We cook a BBQ at the shared facilities (yummy sausages) then watch T.V in bed before having an early night.
