TROPICAL CYCLONE FORECAST TRACK MAP
Severe Tropical Cyclone Ita

This is what we were faced with as we awoke on Thursday morning. A Category 4 cyclone (which as I write is now a Category 5 which is the max, with peak winds forecast up to 300km/hour!!!), starting to head south towards the Barrier Reef area.....on that basis it was an easy decision to change flights and get back to Sydney on Thursday evening.
So we had a leisurely morning in the appartment, went for a promenade through the town and then had a last Mocca's steak pie before heading off to the airport.
We got back to Chez Colfers around 8.30pm and had a lovely evening with Chris, Rochelle, Derek and also Rochelle's brother in law John and his kids Amber and April.
Thoughts are with the folk back up in Queensland who are bracing themselves for the landing of the storm at around midnight tonight.
