Dear Grace and Mag, After I left Brisbane last week I travelled a bit further up to a place called Noosa for a camping trip in the bush. It was ok...not great but not horrendous either. Stayed in a dorm of hammocks for the first night and a tent for the second and third night (very uncomfortable). We canoed up the river one day and down the river the other day - both times finding a beach, chilling and having a little picnic. I preferred the second day as the beach was really big and with beautiful blue water. Arms and back muscles ached a little bit but not as much as I thought seeing as we canoed 12km round trip the first day and 7km the second day. In the evenings there was nothing really ... read more

Noosa is a beautiful little coastal town in Queensland, with some amazing beaches and home to to some of the most expensive houses in Australia - you should expect to pay between 10 and 20 million dollars. Bed bug scares at Noosa Backpackers - gaining photographic evidence of bed bugs and having to tear apart our bags on two occasions to put them through the dryers made our stay pretty unpleasant. The attitude of the manager made it even more so, not somewhere we would recommend. Gagaju bush camp The first of our many adventures started with a 3 day/ 3 night camping trip in the Noosa Everglades. We had a pretty eventful 3 days: - The human tape recording - The guy would have been better handing us a headset with numbered stations, similar to ... read more

Good morning! (or evening for you) Noosa is most famously known in Georgia's mind as the place with the best ice creams. Indeed she had 4 in one day. Whilst wearing a bikini. Bold move. The beach here was lovely - Georgia and Sophie loved sunbathing whilst Max (yet again) slept. We had great at pool parties and free BBQs (salad sandwhiches for Georgia) at the Nomads hostel we were staying in. We greatly enjoyed the one club Noosa had to offer - was buzzing. Noosa also introduced us to the creepiest German roomate yet. To make it even better we kept on bumping into him at every single stop after. We still don't know his name. On the plus side we also reunited with many lovely friends from Byron and had loads of lovely evenings ... read more

Today we had an early start at 7am as we set off on the two hour drive up the coast to Eumundi markets. Once I cleared the one way systems of the city, and noted the four police cars in under an hour catching people speeding, it was a long straight drive….. 100 Kilometres of long straight road in fact! But with the cruise control on and the music going it made the drive more pleasant. We arrived, seemingly in the middle of nowhere, though we could see the hundreds of tents all set up in fields. We parked up, and set about exploring. One small area of the market was a permanent fixture, all with the individual stalls inside, we browsed around looking at all the wears and I felt fully refreshed and awakened after ... read more

Fraser Island was one of our more extravagant spends of the Australia leg of our journey, similar to that of the Whitsunday islands. We had a couple of spare days before in Noosa, a beautiful little place where the rich and famous like to kick back and relax. Although we didn't see any celebs, we did see a lot of money flying around with Hugo Boss among the shops on the Main Street. There were yachts galore in the lakes around the town, many of them putting our Whitsunday Adventurer to shame! We had New Years here which I cannot remember an ounce of, but we ended up down at the beach with a load of friends watching the fireworks and then headed back to the hostel where the party was. New Year's Day was almost ... read more

We decided that we really wanted to travel up to the Sunshine coast, and found a little 2 night window to head up there before going to Brisbane. So we had to take 2 greyhounds, but we got there by 5.30pm. We were picked up by the staff of Flashpackers hostel, where we had decided to treat ourselves to an ensuite double room...flashy! This hostel was really nice and clean and friendly, and because it was about $10 a night more than most, a lot less young annoying messy backpackers! We walked into Noosa Junction, which is tiny with a few take aways and a couple of small cafe's, mostly closed because it was sunday! We had some tea and then walked back to the hostel. The next day we went to Australia zoo - home ... read more

Woke up to a very windy morning. Its supposed to rain today, so we drove to Underwater world aquarium in Mooloolaba. It was rubbish and we're annoyed to have spent $70 on it. Its a very windy day which is a shame as it rules out a lot of activities. We went into Noosa Heads for lunch and had a lovely chicken burger. Just as we finished eating, there was a huge thunderstorm! We got absolutely soaked running back to the van! Charles' phone got wet and broke, so we went to buy him a new one. Its very jazzy! We spent the evening sitting out in the barbeque area with a few drinks and chatted to some of the other campers.... read more

It was a short trip up the coast by our recent length of travel's standards arriving a mere two hours later. We were welcomed to a laid back part of town, the Sunshine Beach. We didn't have to much of an introduction as sunset was almost upon us, we dropped our things at the hostel and went to the supermarket for some bits for dinner. Walking back we got a bit lost having previously been in the shuttle bus but it helped us become orientated and meant we saw a lovely sunset over the beach. An early night ensued, you are shocked right?! We had good reason this time though, we decided to watch the sunrise on the beach at 5.30am and needed some beauty sleep and luckily the other two people on our dorm may ... read more

Eumundi is famous for one thing, and that’s its markets. There is a market every Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday. And we’re not talking an average kind of market – this is the mother of all markets. The big version is on Saturday mornings but even the Wednesday one, which we went to, was huge! We spent several hours checking out the many stalls and cursed ourselves for having eaten a hearty breakfast as there was an abundance of delicious food on offer. I couldn’t help myself and had an early lunch of chicken satay skewers and various snack and drink samples. In an attempt to get rid of a headache and stiff neck/shoulders, I went for a craniosacral ‘jaw aligning’ treatment. I’d never had one before and it wasn’t exactly what I had expected. Unlike manipulative ... read more

Hi everyone, as this is my first official entry, welcome to my travel blog. I thought it was a great idea, as not everyone is facebook obsessed like me! haha..:) So we left Brisbane city yesterday, after arriving on Tuesday 29th May. It was a nice City, Southbank was really cool, but we didn't get to see the famous "wheel" maybe we will get some time on the way back! It is not a patch on Melbourne, but then again. it's gonna be tough for anywhere to measure up to good old Melbs... home from home for us!! We stayed up in Fortitude Valley- loads of hills and steep walkways, if i stayed here I would definately be a skinny minnie in no time!!:) We took a stroll down town and came across Peterpans and decided ... read more
