Whale splash!
Surfers Paradise whale watching. Honestly it was a whale! Cat sitting is going well with Charlotte the cat having finally accepted us all. The kids, only ever having had a budgie, and mice as indoor pets are giving her lots of attention and she is just loving it.
The cheeky magpie that pinches her cat food was startled the other day and lost it's way out of the house. Pete had fun and games trying to catch it and finally get it outside. It was not too upset as it was back within a short time for some more!
Can't believe just how many wallabies are around the property and how they just sit and watch us curiously at sunset and sunrise.
With our kids here for the week Pete and I have been dropping them off at the Theme Parks while we have been out cruising the broadways where the rich and famous have their multi million dollar houses, and superyachts moored close by. We went whale watching yesterday and were very fortunate to see several pods and witnessed flips in the air and flapping of their tales.
Still no rain so far and not complaining. Wine is very cheap but beer more expensive so
Kookaburras
Noisy laughing kookaburras that wake with their laughter as good news for me but bad news for Pete.
Went for a walk in a conservation area a couple of days ago and the family were very very suprised that it was me who spotted a koala scratching itself up a tree! I usually take ages just to make any bird etc out so I was quite pleased with myself and hope I can keep it up.
Found a 6" skink in the broom cupboard today which made me jump out my skin. Will probably have to get used to things like that. As long as they run away from me and not towards me I will be fine.
We just have bikes to buy and maybe a kayak and we will be off on our travels around the 1st September.
Until my next update. Take care
