This is the little guy that jumped out of the sink!
I pretty big driving day today. We left Mt Surprise about 7.30 after making some braised lamb chops in our Thermo pot, ready for dinner tonight. Oh funny thing last night too, a tiny little frog popped out of the sink! (See the pic)! Not sure how that happened!

I set my self up for a day of knitting but not too far down the track my heart was in my mouth because the easy going road turned into a single patch of bitumen up the middle of the red dirt. It was rough going and a bit scary. Intermittently the road went back to a good quality road, to the skinny rough bitumen, usually with no warning. There wasn't a lot of other cars but when they go past you have to move right off into the dirt and then hope your tyres don't burst when you do! This went on and off for ages. But Rob handled things well. I didnt get a lot of knitting done though!

We stopped at Georgetown for a cuppa and Croydon for a fuel stop. Rob attempted to get under a beautiful tree but took most of it with him (see

The terrain kept changing, started to look like desert here
the pic!)!

The terrain continuously changed in this section of Qld. Beautiful all the same. Lots of kangaroos, hawks, eagles and funny birds that may have been brolgas. (Near water holes) And Brahman cows everywhere!

We decided to go right through to a place called Karumba on the Gulf of Carpentaria. Its off the highway but it appears to have been well worth the extra 70 k's. Its beautiful, and again the pictures don't so it justice. Its really hot up here but the caravan park swimming pool helped that! We were giving the tip to go to the local pub and have a meal and watch the sunset. (Guess we are having braised chops tomorrow now!). Very popular place and the sunset is beautiful. We saw a huge ship come in through to the Norman river which apparently is used for the live cattle transport...

The sunset was well worth it as was the night sky walking back home. Indigo blue black, beautiful!

Off the bed now as we are going on a fishing charter early tomorrow! Might be eating fresh fish tomorrow night and the braised chops will be relegated to the freezer!
