As it's been a while since our last visit, we thought that we would whip over to Oz to see the family in Hervey Bay before Dave & Karen take off in their caravan again. Dave drove the 4 hours down to Brisbane to pick us up from the airport and Kaye & Geoff kindly moved out of their house and stayed on their boat in the nearby marina so that we could have their place all to ourselves. We felt very lucky.

As the trip was basically a chance for Steve to spend maximum time with his brother and sister, the girls and I often grabbed the bikes and headed off to the pool for Jordan to train or we headed down to the waterfront for a coffee. On one of the first days, Mike kindly took us girls on a tiki tour of Fraser Island. I can easily see why this is a mecca for 4WD's - it was an awesome day. The weather was beautiful and hot and we all had a great time. Steve and Dave did a spot of fishing and thankfully caught a couple which we had for dinner with our prawns. The girls got to have a ride on Tessa's horse on one of days and enjoyed catching up with their cousins.

The only downside to the trip was Kaye announcing that her and Geoff were splitting up - albeit amicably, it still put a dampener on what was otherwise a cool trip.

Steve even got to drive the Monaro - whoop-de-do. Not much different to the Commodore only with the inconvenience of having only two doors!
