great weekend... whhoooo hoooo...

Anzac day was a long weekend. After paying our respects to those who have fought in wars, we headed off on a family holiday to visit friends in Noosa and Gympie.

We were able to crash a nice resort. Our friends from Melbourne were staying there. There were no staff to kick us out, so we made use of the spa, pool and bbq area and had a great time catching up with friends. Spa was very relaxing - shame about some kids there that just wouldn't leave us alone 😉

Went and played along the Noosa River. We were very lucky that our friends chose to share with us. The weather was so good - wheres the cold gone? That we even got sunburnt! unlucky! After Noosa we headed off to Gympie were some more friends were waiting (relations of the noosa friends). Our friends enjoy a wonderful view of a golf course and rolling hills so we love to sit in their back yard on the porch swing, and the children on the trampoline. We had lovely sunset and sunrise vistas, and on the sunday morning and awesome mist surrounded the whole town - you couldn't see a thing! No more than maybe 50 metres away. Our children loved it, they have never seen fog like that - it was like Christmas to them.

On our second day we headed off to Lake Borumba. Was interesting with 7 children in tow. We climbed these really jagged rocks to get a view of the dam wall, so I was having a nervous breakdown trying to watch them all, to make sure they didn't fall. They on the other hand, were not worried, having the time of their life "rockclimbing" and throwing rocks into the water. We then drove the car around to the other side of the lake and enjoyed the view. As it has blue green algae not the best for swimming - we were jealous of all the people with boats and canoes 😞

On Sunday we attended church with our friends, and hubby even taught a lesson to the Young Women - so nice to be involved. We had fantastic lunch (as with the food the whole weekend - mainly including custard - personal joke - as me about it) and bid our friends goodbye. We love it up there, we want to move 😊

On the way home the traffic was terrible - of course everyone else is returning home from the long weekend - whoops forgot about that - we arent the only people on holiday. It was so slow we decided to stop at a lookout - whitehorse mountain - that is right next to the highway. After climbing 700 metres uphill dragging the kids- phew! we enjoyed the view of the glasshouse mountains at sunset. - Beautiful end to our holiday.

Thanks to our lovely friends who put up with us!
