We left Sydney what seems like ages ago now to head for Newcastle - to be honest there was not a lot there and the most excitment was the big warehouse fire that happened outside our hotel, which require 2 fire engines, police and ambulances.
Moved from there to Port Macquire which was nicer, but still a little on the quiet side, i think the easter holidays had something to do with that - everything shuts down! Went to the Bilabong zoo to see the Koalas and Kangaroos - check out the photos of the roo with a little joey in its pouch - Aww
From Port Macqurie we moved to Coffs Harbour, which had some nice beaches but was very spread out, we must have walked about 10 miles a day just to get to the supermarket and back. I took david on at Tennis but it was soo hot i gave up after 30 minutes. From Coffs we really wanted to go to Byron Bay but hadnt realised that there was a massive Jazz and Blues festival on so all accomodation (within our price range) had gone, so this forced us to see it by greyhound bus only as we passed through to surfers paradise.
We enjoyed Surfers Paradise a lot, spent 6 days there. Its a bit weird as it has tacky souvenior shops next door to Gucci but has a great beach with gold sand that went on for miles and miles. We went out reef fishing on a boat in the sea, Kate managed to catch 2 red snappers (and my thumb on the hook - ouch that really hurts, i feel for the fish). David was the only one on the whole boat not to catch a fish, the boat included sea sick Japanese and a 9 year old so being the only one without a fish he wasnt very happy 😉 hahahahaha
I had a surf lesson with an ex pro and a totally awsome surfer dude instructer (you'll see why i say this from the photo) I could stand up though and was knackered by the end, my legs and arms still ache now.
We moved from Surfers to Brisbane which is probably the nicest city we have been to. It even has a man made beach inside the city! Today we have been to Australia zoo - home of the LEGEND Steve Irwin (CRICKEY ISNT SHE A BEAUT!) Went to the crocosium show and had a great day - some of those crocks looked a bit angry - CROCS RULE!
We leave tomorrow to go to Hervey Bay, so will post more updates after that.

We have uploaded a video so see if it works - check out the chicken chasing david at the end
