Fraser Island Wednesday 4th
Today started normally with Cohen and I getting up at 6 am to have breakfast. Yes you read right, we get up at 6 am every morning. I know we are on holidays but we can't help ourselves. Once the sun is up we are up. Today we are going to spend the day at the rocks at Waddy Point. We were delayed a little as we had a flash thunderstorm. It started pouring at 10 am or so and it was over in 30 mins. We were on the road or bush track by 11.30 am and we headed to the Indian Head beach and started looking for pippies. Man these pippies are harder to find than dingoes. We were supposed to look for small round heaps in the sand as the tide was receding and then we dig them out. We couldn't even find the round heaps. I found one but I think it was by mistake. After that we went to the shop to buy the same old stuff. Tonina got her coffee. We went to camp after that to pick up the pippies that the other campers had given us and found

This is the rocky outcrop at Waddy Point. This is where we are doing all our fishing from at the moment. Catching heaps of undersized fish.
that the goannas had gotten into our camp stuff and they had cleaned up our coffee percolator. They licked the coffee out. I can imagine there now is a goanna on steroids speeding around our camp. We caught more fish at the rocks. We caught sweep, small mackerel and whiting. All were undersized. The kids had great fun and Paul even more. We tried killing frogs with dettol spray today but it didn't work as well as the locals told us it would. There is nothing better than a hammer to the head. We also used the drone for the first time today. I was hoping Paul would not lose it over the ocean. We have not seen the footage but I am sure it will be spectacular. Our movie for tonight is Monster Inc.

At high tide, which was late in th day the boats started cling back in and a couple of the locals had their tractors pull their boats out of the sand . Here is one of them.

On the way home Paul decided to drive through what he thought was a small puddle. It ended up being a metre deep and the water bent his registration plate upwards and went way over his bonnet. He wants to do it again tomorrow. It was thankfully fresh water
