Tractors pushing boat trailers
There were two tractors pulling boat trailers. We didn't see the boats but they must have been massive. Fraser Island Sunday 1st May 2016
In rained again last night. This seems to be a daily occurrence up here. Seems to rain more at night than during the day but we do see pockets of rain during the daylight periods as well. Today we woke up and after Breakfast Paul decided we would walk to the shop. Well that is simple. NOT. We started off by going out of our camp and heading to the beach. We went the wrong way first and then had to double back about 500 metres. We then walked along the beach. We walked, walked and walked some more. Paul kept saying, its here I can see it over and over. On the way we found a thousand small cane toad frogs. I am talking the size of a fingernail. We stepped on as many as we could find and did not even dint the population. It is a real problem here. We also found a number of blue stinger jelly fish on the beach (as named by Karen cause we couldn't be bothered googling it). Anyhow we walked 5 kms to the shop. By the time we got there we were as hot
Kookaburra in the old gum tree
As the old song Goes here are the Kookaburras in the old gum tree. and sweaty as you could be and then we had to walk back the same way. With 4 children in tow this was an adventure. Later the kids and Paul went fishing. They caught some small bait fish. Everyone caught a fish. Have a look at the photo. Later in the evening before it got dark we went fishing off the rocks again and caught different fish again. It was so much fun as every one of the children caught a fish. By the way we released them all back to the sea. Rained for a small time at lunch time but the rest of the day was fine. The sunset was the nicest sunset I have ever seen.
