Fraser Island Thursday 28th April 2016
Hi all, well today was going to be a lazy day. No planning at all. Well that idea lasted for about five minutes. In no time at all we agreed we would spend the day at Eli creek Even though we went yesterday. The first low tide was at 7.30 am and high tide was at 12 noon. We decided to leave our camp at 9 am and headed to Eli creek. I think Paul was hoping to find his thongs. He had no hope at all. When we got to Eli Paul went looking for the thongs he lost yesterday. No hope. I told him so. After the kids had been frolicking in the water for an hour we spotted a person walking along the edge of the creek with some cuttlefish bone and wearing a pair of oversized thongs. Lisa spotted them first and would you believe it this man found Paul'S thongs and was wearing them. Paul got excited, as he does, and walked up to the man and asked him if he had found his thongs and yes they were Paul's I can't believe Paul hugged him. OMG. We had

lunch at Eli. Another one of those bread, cracker, Nutella and vegemite mixes. With high tide at 12 noon it was interesting seeing the cars driving through the creek which was being hammered by the waves. No one got stuck. The sand is very hard so getting stuck is rare unless you have a breakdown or you do something silly. Anyhow the kids did some more swimming in the creek and then we headed to the shop at Cathedral beach. This shop had everything, even lures and small hardware stuff. The diesel was $2.20 the highest we have seen on the island. Everything was basically double price but they had coffee so Tonina was happy. We also visited some very old sand rock structures called the Pinnacles. These red sand structures were like cliffs. Once we got back to camp we had dinner then watched another movie on Paul's movie projector, we watched The Force Awakens. It rained for a lot of the night and we woke up to rain.

We parked the three cars together against the sand bar and then Paul brought out his Fox wing canopy. Can't get better than that particularly given the cars were full of food.

Found by a stranger who Paul hugged. We cable tied them to Paul's window wipers.

Prices are extremely high with diesel/unleaded at $2.20. Steve bought 5 litres and it cost him a fortune as he needed to buy the 5 litre container as well. They saw him coming.
