Had to stop the previous ramblings - time ran out at the internet cafe...(we do have a computer on board - but takes quite alot of power, is very slow and 1 gig of downloads seems to disappear at an alarming rate - so less stressful to leg it up the road and pay to transfer the stress to the internet cafe!)
We have now finally made it over the border - we are currently anchored in Southport, Southern Queensland, in the delightfully named "Bum's Bay" and have met up with our friends Rob and Barbara. They are on their boat Robara and we will travel north in company - at least as far as the Whitsundays. (Travelling in company means sharing the decisions, the dramas - and copious amounts of food and alcohol at night!)
We did another overnighter to get here - this time much easier - there was no wind so we had to motor the whole way - but flat seas and no rain so we did in 24 hours. I spent my watches sitting in the cockpit - starry sky above, flat water below, listening to cd's of Alan Bennett reading his diaries - just lovely.
Its very warm and sunny here. We are just about to try and do a mammoth food shop by dinghy - always an entertaining procedure - and invariably damper than anticipated......
I have struggled with working out exactly how this blogsite works - so hope you get this OK. I had hoped the pictures of Coffs Harbour attached but judging by the FAQ for the site - wont know til I send it out - so here goes........

Dear Jane and Peter It was lovely to see you both at the wedding - we had more champagne after tennis today to celebrate once again. I do note that my comments are pre moderated and automatically stripped but I do wonder what it means exactly. Do hope the boat was OK and that your vision of smooth water and blue skies is a reality - lots of love to you both Susie
