Left Palm Cove this morning with some wonderfull memories and feeling rested.Spent a day in Port Dougals during our stay which is only 45k form Palm Cove along a very stunning coastal road , lost of twists and turns , but what views! The beaches are beautiful but the sea is not for swimming in without a stinger suit and a lookout for the possible CROC.Also took a trip to the Daintree village, to where we have been befor a trip down memory lane. The journey is beautiful with such changing landscapes

Port Douglas is a staging post for the Great Barrier Reef and boats leave here daily to the outer reef, for snorkeling and diving.Very much a tourist town, it still remains a pleasent place to visit. While we were there it was the Sunday market with all the usual stalls and activity but not hustle and bustle. The pier that services the boats is also full of cafe's and bars overlooking the harbour very plesant and relaxing.

Heading for Cooktown some 300ks from Palm Cove along the Mulligan highway today will post tomorrow on the journey.
