I don’t know why I was so fascinated with Steve Irwin, the crocodile hunter, but he always made me laugh. His death was a sad event nine years ago but his zoo lives on. It isn’t a large zoo but features some of Australia’s favorites. They have an animal hospital located close by and you can visit it too, however, our time didn’t allow. Spent some time looking at his memorial that comprises all kinds of items that people sent. There were khaki shirts that were signed by mourners. Our guide said that after his death, cars were lined up along the entrance to his zoo and the employees brought out the shirts for people to sign. We saw a crocodile and bird show and had time to visit the animals before returning to the ship.
