That was an Australian gold Cabernet Franc. It had like a glazed ripe cherry undertone and I actually couldn't believe the nose when i detected fresh shucked oysters in the first few minutes, the guide confirmed and it quickly dissapeared. Only with wine can you have the drink change in the glass so quickly.
I bought a little too much wine to drink in the two days before I head home so I've been having wine with breakfast lunch and supper. It's hard to pair wine with cereal!

Actually I am leaving for the airport in a couple of hours and Nick and I have been busy packing and clearing his house out because he is moving out on Friday. Yesterday we went and watched 'Australia' the movie on opening night in a gold class viewing room. The gold class movie experience cannot be beat. We had an entire cinema screen for 32 people total and we were all seating in oversized lazy-boy recliner chairs that had automatic controls for both head rest and foot rest. There was a menu to order drinks and food from and you can tell the concierge when you would like it to be brought out. Nick and I enjoyed a few coronas and had some appetizers brought out to us just after the previews, we didn't want to be bothered once the movie began..haha. It was the most comfortable movie experience I have ever been involved in. The movie was really good especially in light of the fact

that I watched it in Australia on opening night and had just learned a lot about the country that the movie was taking place in.

The Verdelho grape is a spectacular medium for white wine. I believe that the grape was made famous by the Portuguese who use it to make Madeira, but I might be wrong. At the Witches Falls winery I tried a Co-inoculated Verdelho and it was a stunning wine. It had vibrant aromas of passionfruit and tropical fruit melded perfectly with citrus that comes through only very slightly. The firm acidity of the wine results in a crisp, clean finish that leaves you feeling refreshed. This is the signature grape of Queensland and it seems that the climate and soil are perfect for growing this grape. The aromas and flavours that came off of this white were quite vivid and the experience was a new one for me. I'll post the last of the pictures from the wine tour and maybe some others. Thanks for reading my blog, it's been an incredible trip and I hope that you enjoyed sharing in some of the experiences.
