Thursday 3rd November
We have become bird watchers while we have been at this caravan park. We have watching a family of the Bush Thick Knee (sometimes called a Curlew) bringing their baby up. It was a small chick when we first arrived now it is nearly as big as its mother. Note that the knees of the this bird bend backwards quite bazzar!!!!!!
We have also come across a pair of Black Drongoes which sit in the tree near us and call to another pair of Drongoes - they make a pinging sound which is quite distincitve. Don't know if the bird or the slang word came first.
We have also had a black butcher bird come right in to the annexe and sit on the chairs.

Hi Michelle and Denis, We are certainly not in any hurry to settle down as yet - and will keep on traveling for a while yet. Hope to catch up with you some where along the way. Looks like you had a great trip up to the Cape - as you can see we are still in Airlie and might be until Xmas Sue & John
