Darwin what an interesting city this is. Having been born in Melbourne and then living on the Sunshine Coast from 1993 Darwin the Capital City of the NT was a bit of a surprise. Not in a bad way it was just more like a large country town and that my friends is a good thing believe me.

To see how the Sunny Coast has changed over the last 20 years has been disappointing though the fact is that's progress - apparently. It has gotten busy too busy and that is where Darwin was a pleasant surprise it is modern but without the crowds big cities usually bring.

This city was bombed during World War 2 as were a number of other locations in the Top End by the Japanese but played an enormous part in saving our magnificent country from invasion, this is not a history lesson so I hope you enjoy the photos.

My dear old Dad was serving in the army in Darwin when it was bombed, he was a truck driver and a fast one we have been told.
