Hi People,
We had nothing planned today apart from having a walk down the beach, having a long lay in, catching up with the blogs and general chilling out.
There is nothing around Wagait beach area but that’s why we wanted to stay here, getting out of the normal tourist areas and into real Australia!!!
I cooked Jenny, Vick and myself breakfast of cheese on toast, Jenny thought her oven didn’t work however I had a look and had it working within a minute!! (Being an electrical engineer helps) I could then grill the cheese so everyone was happy with breakfast.
Harris and I then sat on the balcony taking turns in writing the blogs; this was nice to read our book while the other one wrote. It is so so hot and muggy I was dripping with sweat. (Yuck)
We finished all the blogs and had lunch: chicken and tomato sandwiches. We decided to take a walk down the beach; as we left the dog was whimpering so we took him with us (We are big softies)!!! The beach is really nice, however we cant
swim in it because on the jellyfish and crocodiles (Eeek)!!! The dog found a hermit crab who pinched his nose and he ran off scared- was very funny!! As it was so hot we lasted 30 mins before heading back!!
Once back I watch a film while Vick help cook dinner, we had scrambled eggs with chicken and bacon with toast-it was delicious!! Cooked by Jenny’s son Mike.
The plan tonight is to head to the local bar, well it’s the only bar within an hours plus drive away!!! It was awesome the bar is open to the elements, which makes dart throwing hard as the wind could catch it and throw it a foot of course lol!!! The beer was not to dear, only $5 a beer so limited our drinking!! (Well I had a fair few more than Vick).
So Vick won a singles match against this old guy who was good but her team lost 5-8, I lost one doubles match but won all three singles matches winning my last one to make it 6-6 and then throwing the winning dart in the team game to win 7-6
for our team. They ask me if I could play next week as well!! Haha.
Everyone we have seen so far in Australia has been so friendly, helpful and have made us so welcome!!
Harris drove us back as Jenny had a few drinks and Vick had only 1 and a half beers, Vick did great as the roads are so dark no street lamps around, and not knowing the area!!! We made it back with only one dirt road mount lol.
Got home about 11.30pm, we were shattered so we hit the hay and we were all asleep quickly!! However the cyclone hit us about 12am and carried on till about 5-6am, it was the most amazing storm I have seen, torrential rain, thunder and forked lightning. Love watching it!!! The pictures don’t do it justice but I have some videos I need to scroll through to find good still shots!!!
Hope you enjoy this blog!!
Love N&V X
