Day 71
Today Sean and I climbed Ayers rock, 348m of vertical height, hardcore I say. The first half is the worst and gets a little easier higher up but then you have to deal with the wind. So it’s a catch 22. Speaking of wind, about 100 feet up we had a really good gust and Jackie turned around and headed back to the truck. She said it was okay to call her a big baby. LOL. It took us 1 hour to make the climb then only 35 minutes to come back down. After a short breather we headed to the cultural center to learn about the aboriginals and have lunch at the picnic tables. Sandwiches FTW! We make 1 more stop to the Mutitjula waterhole for a few photos and motor back to camp to relax and write blogs, get road permits ready and sort out reciets. Its pretty cloudy out and we haven’t seen the sun today. So its decently cool out but the damn flies never go away. Jackie says she will muster the courage to make the climb tomorrow so we are setting some time aside to allow her that tomorrow morning and then

Straight up
its off to the olgas and lesseter caves and the docker river roadhouse. As we have to cross abo land in just a few days before our road permit runs out.
