Well it was a pretty weird night, sleeping under the Devils Marbles. Its a stunning place but we arrived just on dark and the boulders loomed over us! We settled in quickly and locked in for the night. After a very restless night I ventured out in the morning to see the place at sunrise. Stunning! Its a natural phenomena that defies logic! We took heaps of photos but not sure they (again) do things justice. Its probably one of those place you need to see (and feel) to get a real sense of its powerful energy. I also saw a magnificent wedge tail eagle floating above the rocks just looking down on us all. Beautiful.
Soon enough we headed off towards Alice Springs. It was 3 or more hours away, but we had a couple of stopovers, especially for diesel. We hit the $1.99.9 cent mark! Guess you get that in the middle of no where. Most of the stopovers have names as if they are a town, but effectively they are just road houses, and pretty dodgy ones at that. The first one was Wycliffe Well. Apparently its the place that has the highest number of UFO sightings

Hows does that stay there in Australia! Maybe something to do with the proximity to the Devils marbles..
The one at Barrow creek was weird as, just a pub, but you could buy all sorts of things. People had signed all over the walls, so Rob added some of this own! Didn't like the place at all... Then the next one had Kangaroo tails (skin on) in the freezer for sale! Yeww!
We eventually arrived in Alice. After grabbing some diesel we saw a motorhome place so called in to see about our door. Got a great lady who wanted to help and she took us to her hubby at Ford. The lock is now ordered and will be fitted on Friday! Unfortunately its not cheap but had to be done. We then dropped my bike off to the bike shop to have the puncture fixed, so we are getting sorted.
Then to the caravan park to book in. Its a nice enough place and the closest to the town so that's important. The ladies have been very helpful with information re tours etc. We are deciding whether to drive to Uluru and Kings Canyon or go on a tour. We will

the light changes make that decision tomorrow. We will stay in Alice until at least Friday so it will be nice to have a few relaxed, non driving days. Oh the weather isnt that great either. pretty cool. Only 20 degrees today, which is the coolest we've had since we left home. Still its nice to have a cooler night for sleeping!
Till tomorrow!
