So slowly keeping you all updated 😊 I've changed the way I'm doing the maps now too. Instead of showing you where we have been from start to now, it'll just be based out of Sydney, because it takes waaaay too long to add each off the points. When we eventually leave here, I'll start from the beginning, cos the map just looks awesome that way...haha make sense?? 😊
So we are still living in Sydney, and are planning on being here for awhile now. We have both found jobs we love, right on Darling Harbour. Steve is Head Chef at Toros, and I am Supervisor at Plate Restaurant. We both work 6 days a week, and have Tuesday's off together. Sux working so many days, but at the same time it means we're saving up the money and still living the life in the harbour, so can't really complain 😊 We try and do something eventful on our days off, but at the same time we neeeed to relax cos its our only day off! Made a couple of really good friends, and normally have a few bottles of wine at their place at least once a week 😊
They also have the cutest little 3 month old boy, who is so adorable!! Hehe
So, travelling around New South Wales. Our first trip was to the Hunter Valley for our 4 year anniversary! We drove up really early on the morning of the 1st, arriving there after a 2:15 hr drive by 930am! After a quick visit to the Tourist Information place, we headed to Blue Tongue Brewery for our first drink when it opened at 10am! Turned out that was where we were staying (Steve booked it, I wasn't allowed to know where), at the Hunter Resort at the same address. We checked in and then spent the remainder of the day looking at all the wineries. We were planning on hiring bikes to ride around, but changed our mind when we realised the distance between most of them, so Steve just decided to drive. We were back at the resort for a 2pm wine seminer, where we met a couple of poms, and ended up hanging around them for the remainder of the afternoon, having a few more drinks at the brewery, and then going across the road to the cheese factory.
Before dinner we snacked
on some cheese and crackers that I had bought from another cheese factory, Smelly Cheese Factory, plus a wine that we bought during our wine seminar. Dinner we ate at the restaurant at the resort, as we were feeling very relaxed and couldn't be bothered going any further. It was absolutly delicious, so so so yummy 😊 We slept well that night, passed out after so much wine 😊 Were up fairly early for breakfast in Pokolbin before heading back into Sydney for Steve to start work at 3pm (on Good Friday! I luckily managed to get the night off - extremely lucky considering it was a Friday night in hospitality!!)
The next road trip we did at the beginning of May was with Jeremy, Laura and bubi Xzavier. We were meant to going up to the Central Coast to check out a house up there (long story, basically the 4 of us were going to commute an hour a day, have two days off a week to enjoy in an acre size property with its own private jetty - not happening now though) but the traffic was really bad because of a truck blowing up or something, so
we ended up driving up to Palm Beach (Home and Away!!) and then stopping of at Manly for lunch on the way home. It was so good to get out of the city, first time since we arrived here.
Brooke also came over last week!! She was in need of a holiday, and decided to visit me! 😊 I had to work the weekend, but managed to start later in the day, so I could still spend the day with her before heading into work around 6pm, and could also go out for a few drinks after work as well. Was so nice to actually see someone from Perth and to show them my life over here! 😊
So that's all for now. Not much else to report. Hopefully heading to the Blue Mountains for our next couple of days off, but other then that just saving as much money as we can!
Love to all!! xxoo
