Woo to small towns! Away from the city we are in a small town called Port Macquarie. We were worried all the hostels would be fully booked, but getting off the bus, we were approached by a man who asked if we needed a hostel. So we got a room really easily. It's a 4 bed dorm and the other two people are really nice. We all went to the Koala hospital down the road together. AWWW!!! Koalas are so cute! I want one...
It's really relaxed and laid back here. We went to the cinema (Thanks Andrew) and watched Australia, fantastic film. I would reccomend it to anyone. We went shopping. :S We've managed to avoid it so far but the sales were just too much to resist. Not that we spent that much anyway. I got a cookie monster tee, with 'got any more cookies' writen on. Its cool. :D
Then on to Coffs Harbour. Tony, the manager at the hostel got us worried about Coffs Harbour too. Apperently all the hostel were fully booked there as well. We couldnt change our travel plans that late so unless we wanted to pay an extra $50 for another

bus the next day (which we didn't) we would just have to hope there was a bed somewhere. We decided the worst that could happen would be that we get a bus to the airport and pretend we had a flight in the morning.
Getting off the bus at Coffs, we weren't greeted by anyone touting for business. We went to the Information booth but it was closing. There were two other girls who were in the same prediciment, so instead of trying to find a hostel, we clubbed together and got a motel room. OH MY GOD! Luxury! A room with a Tv, fridge, en-suite. Sigh. Luxury seems to change meaning when your travelling. Between the four of us the rooms worked out at $30 p/p p/n which is about what we've been paying for hostels, so there wasnt even a dent in the budget. Result! Coffs Harbour is like Port Macquarie in a way...but its much more spread out. The harbour is a couple of miles from the town, and the shopping precinct is a couple of miles from that. Annie gained an admirer. Lol. Some creepy guy kept staring at her in the library and when
she went to the loo, he followed me to the shelves and told me to pass on his compliments of my friends appearence. lol (No-one speaks like that, and I'm not sure he would understand the big words... ' one f***ing hot looking chic' Hahahahahahahahaha!!!!!!! It made me laugh, can you tell? Hahahahaha!
So anyway, after the near misses we've had, we decided it was probably better to plan ahead and book stuff in advance. We've noticed that while planning, we've been looking at the guidebook for phrases like 'quite town', 'surprisingly little to it' while avoiding anything that makes it sound like a big, busy city. We're in Brisbane now, an unfortunate necessity.(spelling?) We need to get visa's for China. Hopefully it wont take too long.
