Australia THE TripAustralia THE TripAustralia THE Trip

Us havin a drink in Adelaid
Sorry for the long break weve been on a bit of an adventure but were gunna try and get all the blogs up to date. This blog is from when we met our Chris so there is still a blog to come before this one which was from Townsville to Sydney. We havnt got the pics on us to do that blog so we will do them soon.

Anyway back to this one!! We were origionaly meant to arrive in Sydney on the 24th August which was the friday but we had seen everything we wanted to see and decided to come a day early on the 23rd. We told Chris we would be arriving in the evening about 9pm but we got to Sydney about 6pm and decided we would suprise him.

We sent him a txt just as we got to Sydney saying we were a couple of hours away and where about did he work because the initial plan was to meet him in work. So were stood by the opera house waitng for him to reply and he never did. So we decided to just walk along the front because he had told us he

worked by the opera house. So were walking along the front looking in every restaraunt to see if hes working there and we came to the end and hadnt seen him. So Neil suggested that we ring his house and ask sumone where he worked and then we would go in and suprise him, so we ring the house and guess who picks up the phone...... So that suprise went down the pan. He had already booked the night off work so he could get the room ready for us but failed to mention it to us haha!! He said he would meet us in half an hour, so he came and we all went back to the house were he has been living. It was so nice to see him and we were all excited about being in sydney together.

That night we went out for a drink with Jenna and Chris and then Lisa joined us lata on. We then all went out the night after around the main places in Sydney, it was a really good night and we were all a little worse for wear the next day. The next few days were spent just

walking around Sydney and seeing some of the gorgeous sights.

Our chris was staying in a place called Kings cross which is like no other place on earth. It takes a bit of getting used to but just imagine a place were anything goes and thats kings cross. One night me an Ne were comeing out of the house when we just seen a lad on his own running up the street with a big blue cape on hahaha, how random! the pair of us just looked at each other in amzement. Then another night we went for something to eat and to watch the match and as we were having our food a man walks up to these people who we presumed were his friends dressed in a tuxedo jacket, dickie bow the works then on his bottem half a pair of susspenders and stilletos. After we seen that we kind of got used to the way kings cross was.

The night before we were due to go on the trip we went to Sharon and Billys which is Chris's friend Mark's aunty and uncle and my dads friends sister ( if that makes sense) to leave

our bags there untill we came back as there wasnt enough room in the van for all our bags so they kindly let us dump all our bags in their house. When we got the house mine and Neils jaws hit the floor, the veiw from their flat was out of this world. The window in their front room looks directly onto the Sydney opera house and the Sydney harbour bridge its just stunning. As we walked in they poured us a glass of champainge each and we all made a toast to our road trip into the outback it was so nice of them and we all had a really nice night, and once again ended up a bit worse for ware haha!!

The next day we all piled our stuff into the van and off we went. Our Chris got in the front straight away with Neil so me and the girls were crammed in the back amongst all the bags, it wasnt the comfiest of journeys! So half an hour into the trip we stopped the van and put the bed down so we could just lay on the bed instead of trying to sit amongst

all the bags, it was ten times better and thats how it stayed throughout the whole trip. We arrived in Cambera a couple of hours lata, took about 2 pictures and off we went again, for the capital of Australia theres really not that much to see. We all decided that we would travel as far as we could before it went dark and see were we ended up. We ended up at a place called Cooma in the snowy mountains.

The fun began..... because me an Neil knew how the campsites operated we decided that we would just say there were 3 of us instead of paying for the 5 (typical scousers) so as we pulled in lisa and jenna had to hide under a blanket in the back and we got away with it, yay. We all set the tent up and then went about cooking our tea which was a lovely bowl of soup and 2 crumpets each haha!! We popped open a bottle of passion pop to celerbrate our first night and lit our first campfire and all ended up in bed for 9:30pm hahaha!! So much for our thrilling road trip eh!! We had

The snowey mountains were jenna nearly perrished. 3 hours down the road it was cracking the flags and here we were in snow
been asleep in the van for a good couple of hours when we heard tap, tap on the door. So i got up and opend it and theres poor Jenna shivering like mad with her little wooly hat on an she just said sal can i get in the van im perishing out here haha god luv her. After that night she bought herself a better sleeping bag since her one was the same thickness as a newspaper.

After Cooma we carried on heading for Mebourne but had to stop at a town called Bairnsdale as it was getting dark. We pulled our trick again and said there was only three of us and got into the park and sent the tent up. We had our tea and then went into the telly room to get warm because it was absolutely freezing. We were in the room for about 10 minutes when a girl came in an started talking to us. We were telling her about our scam of how we only pay for 3 and she was laughing away and then we told her how we also fiddle the washing machines in the campsite with some cotton buds

(well its better than paying $4 a wash) so by now she was crying laughing. So we spent the night in the telly room talking to the girl and her boyfriend, they were giving us tips on the outback and we were giving them tips on how to fiddle the washing machines haha!! We all said good night and everyone was getting ready for bed when the girl came over and gave jenna a hot water bottle which she said she could lend untill the morning and a big red blanket which she said jenna could keep. It was really nice of her and the blanket came in really handy.

In the morning we set out to reach Melbourne in the afternoon which we did. We got there about 2pm and found a campsite which charged us $50 to stay in. We all decided we couldnt afford that for 4 nights so we went into town and got a list of other campsites in the area and Lisa set out phoning them up. She got through to one that was only a few miles outside of the city centre which was a lot cheaper and the fella seemed really

nice telling lisa that he will put one of the "3" of us down as a kid so it will work out cheaper, lisa must have worked her charm haha. So we set off to find this other campsite and we were nearly there when Lisa's mobile rang and it was Sean the fella from the campsite asking where abouts we were (a bit over friendly) lisa had pulled haha.

We got to the campsite and set up and spent our days around Melbourne just walking around the city and taking in the sights. We decided we would go out on the friday night to see what Melbournes night life was like. We bought some wine to drink before we went out and headed off about 10pm. We decided we would just call a taxi from the campsite. So we walked down to the phone box and lisa started to ring the taxi comapanies, when Sean popped out the office to see what all the noise was. He still didnt know what we looked like but we knew it was him because of his name badge. So we thought oh no hes gunna throw us off when he realises

Meant for kids haha
theres 5 of us instead of 3. So he asked us what we were up to and Lisa turned round and said were just ringing a taxi and he said ahhh you must be Lisa, he must have reconised the accent. So she said yeah an he said i thought there was only 3 of you an we all just kind of giggled and chris said oh weve just come to get a light off these and then we all just burst out laughing and good enough he saw the funny side and actually rang us a taxi of his phone, must be the scouser charm.

We waited about an hour in the freezing cold for this taxi to turn up then the first pub we went to was like an up market student bar which was crap. So we decided to jump a taxi to St kilda which is meant to be the gay area of Melbourne. $50 lata and half the night gone we ended up in St kilda. We went to one pub and there was just us 5 in the bar and we got talking to a barman who told us we had picked the wrong

night to come out and everywere was dead (great). We decided to go over to this shady looking bar which had a log fire in it and the scariest looking people youve eva seen. Lisa got talking to a lady called strawberry who liked to be called strawbs for short haha!! Jenna dared herself to dance with this man who had hair like Doc from back to the future. It was a funny night but we spent $100 in taxis and had been to 3 pubs and that was the end to our fantastic night out in Melbourne.

We set off for the great ocean road on the sunday, which is a drive right around the coast to Adelaid with the most gorgeous veiws. It took us 3 days to do the ocean road in which we seen, the 12 apostles, the blow hole and a full rainbow which ended in the sea. The veiws were stunning. The next stop was Adelaid from the ocean road which was the beginning of our outback trip.
