Dear everybody
After the last update I travel on along the East Coast, I stayed at Noosa, Brisbane, Gold Coast/Surfers Paradise, Byron Bay! and last but definitely NOT least, spotX:D
In Noosa I had a good day with Liselotje, a fellow dutchie, hiking in one of the national parcs, we had a good time and we actually saw a koala in the wild. Also the nature, animal species, beaches and the sunset were was awesome!! I got bitten by Eric the ant (1,5-2 cm tall!) and it did hurt, the fucker:P it has been huge thick spot for a week bizarre!
I also attended a 3 day-2 night bush camp, which was awesome. We canoed up the Noosa river towards the Everglades to set up our own camp. I was expecting a group of people from around my age, but the average age was slightly older, nevertheless we had great fun! The trip for us included swimming (even at 7am), a lot of canoeing, hiking towards the sand patch (although it was prohibited because of the fire danger, but that made it more exciting ofc:P) and a lot more, real camping, good times.. I actually used a goone
bag as pillow, and it worked out pretty good😉:D
In Noosa my coolbag with food got stolen, screw you, you sucker! Anyway I had to buy a new one including food and all that.. After Noosa I moved on the Brisbane, civilization, but after 1 day I had seen the city already so it wasn’t so interesting, I already wasn’t expecting so much of it because of all the stories, so it was all right, I spent an afternoon, wandering around along the botanic gardens, the universities, the bridges, the river and the lagoon (manmade beach thingie).. it was good and relaxing.. at night I got this free nachos at my hostel, but it would have been better not to eat it, it just made me hungry! I just don’t understand how they can sell such a small thing (normally you have to pay 4,5 dollars for it!!). At Night I went visiting some friends of mine that were staying in another hostel.. the next day was a big day in Australia, the Melbourne Cup day, its all about horse racing and its biiiiiiggg, everybody dresses up (all the females in dresses and stuff, nice😉) places bets, drinks at
bars during work/school time or whatever and parties.. and so did we, two of my horses actually ended in the top 4, so I guess I won a 1000 dollars or smth muwhahah, didn’t check yet:P
Then Surfers paradise.., although a misleading name, for me it was a good place to stay! My hostel was awesome, we had our own appt sort of, with kitchen, toilet, shower and XBOX 360:D I had to share it with some guys from England and it was good!! We spent a few days here, chilling at the beach and enjoying the day and nightlife of the Gold Coast and that was rather nice/interesting.. it went from huuuuggge hummer limos to 1 dollar coronas (after you paid 10 to get in:P), from metermaids/barmaids in lingerie lol to pool dancing.. and a loooooot more.. Its definitely a good place to stay for a while!
But now I am off to the real ‘surfers paradise’; Byron Bay, well at least that’s what they say, awesome surfing, a lot of dolphins, nice weather… we will see, let’s hope it’s like that😉
unfortunately, the first few days were very rainy, but after visiting Nimbin, hippietown and
the so-called Amsterdam of Australia, we had fun anyway. We chilled at the hostel (arts factory, awesomeeee, the place to stay in Byron), played some games, watched a movie, went for a swim and did basically nothing, though we had a great time, the famous Nimbin cookies were nice:D
Then the weather got better, way better, I was actually able to work on my tan again whilst doing some surfing with Joost, one of the best ways if you ask me:D And believe me, we did some CRAZYASS surfingxD Then THE day of solar eclipse came by, first the sunset, seeing the sun rising from the ocean, and then the actual happening made it worthwhile to stay up all night with some Dutch company.. although the eclipse wasn’t 100% at all at Byrons lighthouse, it was AWESOME!! Luckily we ordered a taxi to get there and back, I would have died walking that far in the condition I was..:P Byron is also the place where we split up (for a while), but yeah Byron Bay, with the Arts Factory, is a very special place, I place I will miss and come back some time even though we didn’t see
any dolphin! we also learned how to survive in the wild, making a basket, fire and food, during a bushwalk😉
My traveling continued towards spotX, a surfcamp, the last part of my East Coast trip. It was a nice camp, with good, healthy food a good vibe and a lot of Swedish for a change😉 I got teached that luck doesn’t exist, instead of that you make things happen yourself.. it has nothing to do with luck, it’s what you make of it/make happen.. can’t wait to hear more of her theories/mottos:D aw and the surf was good to practice.. yeew!!
Anyway, if not clear yet, I enjoyed it all, every part of my travels, big time, it started with surfing and it ends with surfing.. how it supposed to be😉
There are a few things I learned in during traveling and one of these things is that Australia is the country of extremes!!!! Growing tobacco is even more illegal than growing weed..xD I love it, it’s also pretty laidback and relaxing.. ‘no worries everything will be all right’
Anyway I am off to Sydney, towards Stereosonic, the preparty for our travels to explore Melbourne, the outback,
the red center, the Great Ocean Road and more.. aw and I might have to try to find a job somewhere in between, but not yet lol..
seeya hugssss
hallo luitjes:P
