We actually left Melbourne on Thursday and worked our way to the mountains to do some skiing at Mt Buller, however the Aussies were warning us there wasn't much of a winter but we really wanted to ski! Then we heard about having to rent chains for the tires, rent our gear in town before the trek to the mountain.... We also had to contend with Mother Nature and her rain and in the end we didn't make it to the mountain 😞

This change of plans afforded us a chance to head to Keaseville - home of an Australian sanctuary and we were inches away from koalas who were quite active and so, so interesting, watched a Joey leave its mother's pouch and hop around and hop back in, came face to face with an emu, and we were delighted by a platypus!

A flight to Sydney today was ok until Claire's suitcase was lost and as I write this fingers are crossed that it will make it to us before we leave for Cairns.....

Our hosts Di and Wayne Laycock have treated us like royalty. We managed to explore Darling Harbour, took a peek at the bridge and the Opera House. Big plans for tomorrow but I will chime in about that later.
