Sydney Opera House
Sydney Opera House Australia….…..I love this place. It is actually really nice to be in a big city right now, especially after being on my own in Fiji for so long. Here I can really feed off of the people, the energy; in my short time here I have already formed a really good impression of this city. It is a large city, but it is not intimidating, it is really clean, well spaced out, and beautiful. With tons of parks, trees and street performers. Everyone seems really friendly and there are a lot of funky little cafes, restaurants, and bars. It is pretty expensive here (about the same as home) - and it is really easy to travel around here…the hostels are nice, everyone speaks English, and there is a huge infrastructure built up for backpackers (since this is such a common destination). Things are pretty simple here (I’m starting to get soft, Hawaii, and now here…both really easy places - when I say easy, I basically mean 1st world - like, I’m not sitting 4 deep on a chicken bus 6 hours into a 15 hour ride).
I don’t really have much to report, I have spend most of my days
Bondi Beach
Bondi Beach just walking around the city, and most of my evening hanging out with a few new friends (I’ve been crashing at a friends house whom I met in Fiji. He lives right here in Bondi - he was in the pic with me from my last blog. Darrien). I’ve been having a really good time just chill’n.
The first day I was here I went hiking in the Blue Mountains, which is known for “The Three Sisters” (See pic). And besides that I’ve just been in the city. I’ve done all the touristy walks, and tons of window shopping (thank god there is no room in my backpack), went dancing last night, and played x-box the night before. I’m heading down south to meet up with Matt Brownlee today, so that should be fun.
From here, I would like to make my way down to Melbourne (hopefully by sharing a ride with someone who has a car). Spend a few days down there and go alone the infamous “Ocean Rode” where the 12 apostles are (not to mention the breathtaking scenery). Then I would like to fly to NZ for a little while, then back to Australia, check

i really like this one out Alice Springs and then maybe the Gold Coast. Things are really up in the air right now, and I need to get to work organizing some of this!!! But the Australian motto “no worries man” keeps me slacking.
(I’m definitely trying kangaroo meat soon!!)
(The bats here are HUGE!)
Some random notes:
If you order a meat lover pizza, it comes with BBQ sauce instead of the normal tomato sauce (eww). Also, a large pizza (dominoes) here is the same size as a small pizza at home…I could not believe it!)

At a lot of cafes, if you order your food TO GO, it is cheaper then if you eat it in the restaurant. Since no one really tips much, the have to increase the cost of the food to pay for the waiters/waitresses.
