Well, living in the house on wheels is finished........ Now we have 4 days in a 5 star hotel (yep, again through my visa points).

Tuesday we were still in Noosa head ( a little surfers Paradise) and had for the first time in our trip a day of rain, it was actually kind of nice to sit in the motorhome, read books and hear the rain.....
So on Wednesday we drove to Brisbane, where we - after getting lost, driving against traffic - finally got to our hotel, dropped of the kids and brought back the motorhome. Another chapter from our travelling closed,. We loved travelling in the motorhome, it's great to go to places and you have everything handy, the only thing that stated to annoy me was making the beds every night, especially when it was hot (we are talking 32C etc) as we all DO NOT LIKE sand in our beds, yes we really got to know each other this trip.....

Remmert and I took the City Cat (Boat) in Brisbane Thursday morning at 6.40 and walked around the city for a bit. For 5.20 AUD PP you can use any type of transit for

They are so huggable this Koalas. Did you know that they sleep 20 hours a day ? Nad are the only animal that eat eucalyptus ???
a whole day, (bus, city ferry, underground etc). Great City, could live here, especially because the winter "cold" temperature is around 24C during the day... ( Hey Ed, Wayne and Mike, they are looking for more hats here ...........)

Took the plane to Sydney at 12.30 and arrived in the hotel at 3.45. We decided that the Thursday night would be the shopping night............. bought some more t-shirts, shorts and gifts. I know everybody knows that I like to shop, ......but Remmert is worse than me on his holidays.....and Kirsten loves helping him with spending money, as long as it is NOT her own.... Hope my nice Aussie wine will still fit in the suitcase....

Anyway Remmert and I are going to the opera La Triviata Saturday night in the Opera House (the concierge could still get us really good seats, and we are advised to wear proper attire, like no sandals etc) and as I only had camping outfits with me, I had to go shop.... Well, luckily all summer stuff is on sale here now. so I will look good for less than 100 CAD. Sabien and I went uo to the Sydney Tower which is
"Healthy Lunch""Healthy Lunch""Healthy Lunch"

Okay, we had to try the Aussie Dogs here, were actually pretty good, especially with tomato sauce (NO Ketchup here, they look funny at you when you ask for that...)
as high as the Eiffel Tower and had a view all over Sydney, while Remmert took Meindert and Sabien on the bridge climb (see his blog)

We have planned a walk around the rock (an area in Sydney where a lot of the older buildings are and where the famous Rock market is... ???? No idea yet what to expect) Sunday will be either beach or Museum depending on the weather and have to do some packing.

Well brekkie is waiting with a flat white coffee (found these 2 days ago, espresso with a lot of milk, very good!!!!)

Enjoy the pics from the last week

These are the baby turtles one day old that we released at night. It takes them about 5 hours to dig themselves out. They were found by the marine biologists on the island during an early morning walk

a female turtle lays about 100-130 eggs after digging a big hole for about 2 hours, then she covers them up and goes back to the sea, end of motherhood work........

This is how big a turtle egg is, they feel kind of rubbery. the marine biologist said that you could touch them as the mother turtle is totally in her own world when she lays the eggs
