REFLECTIONS OF AUSTRALIA:
The special highlights were staying with good friends Dave & Julie who made us very welcome for the weeks of dipping in and out of Melbourne. We had loads of laughs usually at Phil’s expense however I did surpass myself with the idiotic clap trap that jet lag brought!! We ate and drank and drank more and ate but Gin o’clock was always a high time of the day. They took us to some wonderful restaurants and sights of Melbourne and around which was brilliant. Looking at old photos - very old photos of us before kids and of course the days of kids when Tom and Dominic and Emily and Laura would play for hours whilst you guessed it we ate and drank.
The second special highlight in Aussie was meeting up again with Fiona and Brian. They were wonderful hosts and made us very welcome. It was also lovely to meet up with extended family and have a good old Aussie BBQ.
Brian’s “Oats Original Tours” was well established by the end of our stay and we miss the rendezvous at 9:30 hrs to set off for a guided trip around Adelaide and the suburbs. His eye for detail on the highlight of the trips - the dreaded roller doors - make me cry with laughter on occasion to the point of making my face ache. Fiona and I were kindred spirits on that one! A wonderful time was had and we love and miss them lots. Thanks Brian for all the photos.
