Our last day in Canberra was very nice. We had a tour of Parliament and the war memorial. Best of all I got to go to Ali Babas which is this delicious middle eastern food chain that I used to eat all the time when I lived here. Also Penny made me Anzac Biscuits which are the yummyist things in the world. I am already eatten the whole dozen lol. We made it to Sydney. Unfortunately when we walked off the bus it was pouring, the streets were flooded, and to get across the Harbor Bridge we had to drive through a few inches of water. new year's eve. in sydney. i have to leave tomorrow morning (jan 1) at 7am to make sure i get to the airport on time for my 9am flight to mackay (via brisbane). still in north sydney- warriewood. still with kade. we decide it’s best to skip the downtown sydney tourist activities and go back to the beach for nye instead. to this, i agree whole heartedly. as if i'd need more to lure me than the irresistible draw of the beautiful beach and surfers, but we also decided against going into the city as they would be setting up road blocks and preparing for the fireworks tonight. and, sloppin on yet another reason, kade had decided at the last minute to throw a shindig for nye celebrations before we went out downtown. so i wake ... read more

Our departure date from Australia is coming up fast, but our excitement for New Zealand is growing even faster. We've had to cherish the last few days we've spent here in the land downunder. The weather has been picture perfect which has given us the opportunity to do all the things we desired before taking off. Newport Beach on a beautiful day is like the opening day of wonderland. The masses gather between the flags and soak up all of the sun in the sky. Though we would like to say we fought against the norm and stood our ground, there would be no truth in that.
