New Year
Sydney Harbour bridge last night! HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!!!
Hope everyone had a really cool new year and saw it in, in style!!
Harriet and I chose to do what is on the list of ‘100 things to do before you die’, that is, New Years in Sydney Harbour!!
We had an amazing time, and well worth the 10 hours we waited to get one of the best seats in the house! We left our house at 12.30 (mid day) and made our way over to north Sydney to a place called McMahons Point. This is directly in front of the bridge, fully face on ( so on the opposite side of the harbour to the opera house, and the other side of the bridge to the opera house!) So we could see the bridge AND the opera house and the city all in full glory!
At 9pm were the family fireworks, a MINI (compared to the full thing), but not so mini to us, which broke the wait up. 3 hours later, the count down and start of 2007! The fire works were MASSIVE, really massive, and prob the biggest display I’ve ever seen, as you probably saw the theme was diamonds,
New Year
Sydney Harbour bridge+Opera house as it is the harbour bridges 75th anniversary this year! All the ships in the harbour had a diamond theme and the whole thing was a true spectacle! It didn’t rain as forecast (they lie here too, them weather man!) which was great. We had a big picnic to see us through and we even had a few sneaky beers.
A wicked way to spend New Year and we’d recommend it to anyone!
A day or so before we hit the opera house for a tour, had a good look around and got a few snaps! This week is harriet last week, so were planning on getting out to the blue mountains and maybe check out Manly before the weekend, so get round Harriet’s and have a look at all the 1000’s of pic’s shes taken! Its crazy, its only about 6 weeks until I’m due home to, really cant wait to catch up with everyone! I’m def going to have an unofficial Xmas, which include a re-run of Xmas eve with everyone round for nibbles!
All the best for 2007!! Take care and have lots of fun!
