My last day at work was on 20th December, it was a long day and by the end of it I felt high as a kite knowing I wouldn't have to back to that Spa that made me so miserable! The next day I celebrated my freedom by going shopping in Bondi Junction with Laura and meeting up with alex who is now in Oz aswell! We had the sickliest hot chocolates ever in a famous Chocolate bar and moaned about the fact that clothes in Oz aren't as good as in England! Laura and Lisa went Christmas shopping to get all my presents on Christmas Eve and I obviously wasn't allowed to go with them so I went and sunbathed in the beautiful park down the road from where we live. It soon started to cloud over so I went home to watch one of the Christmas DVD's we'd rented. On Christmas day we had all got each other lots of really great presents and we had a lot of fun opening them. then we had a few drinks and heading to Bondi beach even though it was cold and raining. It turned out there was only one bar open so we went there and spent most of the day there even though the music was awful and it was generally quite a horrible day. We're never spending Christmas away form home again! On boxing day Lisa cooked us a Christmas dinner which was yummy scrummy and we chilled out for most of the day, watching Top gear re-runs on uktv (blatantly the best channel!)
Unfortunately Lisa had to work on New Years Eve which meant we couldnt go and camp out in circular Quay to see the fireworks because everywhere would have been full by the time Lisa finished work and she wouldnt have got in. So after she finished work we got ready and had quite a few drinks at home before strolling down to Glebe point where you can see the harbour bridge and we watched the fireworks from there. It was a good view, especially considering we didn't have to sit in the rain all day to see it! Then we headed into central and partied the night away in our favourite Irish bar. The next day was possibly the worst hangover of our entire lives, well for me and Lisa anyway, Laura just sat and laughed at us!
I've been trying to make the most of living in Sydney, especially now that I'm not tied down with work! I'm going to make sure i'll have seen everything I wanted to see by the time I come home, we're planning a trip to Melbourne for the end of the month. Unfortunately the weather here has not been anywhere near as good as was expected. I don't know if it's just bad luck that the weather is not as good as it normally is this time of year (cold and rainy christmas and new years!!) or if Australia has just managed to keep this downfall a secret from the rest of the world! In my original plans I was going to head straight to Melbourne after New year because I thought Sydney would be so scorching hot that I wouldn't be able to handle it, but it really isn't like that at all. Hopefully the sun will come out a bit more before we leave so we can get gorgeous tans to make you all jealous when we come back home!

xXx
