Finally starting to get used to the time zone here so just chilled in the morning yesterday.
We are a bit fed up of all the walking so decided upon more of a chilled day.
There was a bit of cloud in the morning but it started to clear so we went to Darling harbour to sit in the sun. The sun was really hot so I had a two scoop ice cream in a cone it was massive!
We were really hot walking back so decided to dip our legs in the pool at the hostel.
Ashley went to a boxing class in the evening but I stayed at the hostel. We had been invited to this food thing by some Danish guys in his room in the dining room, so I headed that way after I had packed my things up as I had to check out at 10 the next day.
When I got to the dining room it was a bit hectic there were around 20 people waiting for this one guy to cook! I spotted these English girls who were in my room down there and they invited me to sit
with them and have some wine and go out with them a bit later, so I headed to the shop bought some pasta and sauce and wine, went back cooked and ate and drank with them. They are heading to New Zealand so I was able to tell them about my trip there and give them some advice. Ashley got back from boxing and we all went out together and had a really good night.
Checking out the next morning was horrible with a hangover! We went to hungry jacks in the station for another breakfast to try and cure the hangover! I said goodbye to ashley as he caught the train home and I headed to the next hostel. I decided to walk there rather than catching the train to try and kill some time between check out and check in.... I almost died in the heat! I didn't realise by looking at the map that there was a slight hill to get up with my bags and I was hungover and it was bright sunshine of about 27 degrees!! I had to stop several times along the way to drink water and catch my breath but luckily
I had chosen a scenic route and stopped in a lovely park to rest on the bench.
Finally I made it to the blue parrot hostel in kings cross.. When I arrived they were so friendly and drew on a map explaining exactly where I should go and what to see and how to get there.
I took their advice and walked through the botanical gardens down to the opera house, from this side it looks amazing because you're standing in the beautiful gardens looking across the water at the opera house with the Sydney harbour bridge behind it.. I took some great pictures, and forgot all about my hangover!
That night I met some of the people at the hostel and they invited me out with them, we played card games and drank 'goon' (Box of wine) and then headed out. Had a really good day!
