First rugby match, it was a fun stadium.
Like usual, things in paradise have been very awesome...
We have had three really packed weeks in a row. Three weekends ago we went to our first rugby game here in Sydney, it was really fun. We went with a bunch of our connect group guys. Games here are super cheap to go to compared to a hockey game back home. It is 20 bucks for a ticket here, and about 50 bucks for the best seats availiable. The game itself was really good, people later said it was one of the best games all year that we could have gone to. It was against a new zealand team that had a lot of the all blacks players on it. New Zealand was supposed to blow out Sydney, but it was a one point match, New Zealand still won. After Rugby we all went out for a late snack and Fox Studios wich is this big entertainment district right near where the stadiums are. We all had good fun.
The next weekend was Easter weekend, and we were off to Melborne. We had booked the cheapest flights we could find and they were the first
Dan and the guys cheered for any team that scored
ones in the morning (6:15 takeoff) so we had to get up pretty early. We had thought we booked the tickets for Friday morning...So on thursday night we were all getting ready and everything, we were going to go to whiteys place to sleep over there because he was going to and it was closer to the airport and then we could all split a cab. Just as we were ready to go Dan checks our itinerary and we were actually scheduled to leave Saturday morning! It was my mistake when we booked the tickets!
Anyways, we spent the extra day at home, and then left early Saturday morning, we had to be up at 4 am. We flew Virgin airlines and we were all impressed with the very hot flight staff that they have. They are mostly girls, and very good looking! It must be one of their companys policies. We arrived in melborne at about 8 am, and then took a cab to Hanna's house. Hanna is a girl we met here at church and her family lives in Melborne. Hanna was also there for the weekend. Once we were at Hanna's we went out for brunch,

then went downtown Melborne wich was really cool, we all thought that Melborne had a lot more character than Sydney did. Right through downtown melborne they have this cannel running through the middle and then a walk over bridge every 2 or 3 blocks. Melborne is a big shopping city and they had all these malls in old antique buildings, and then they had these really cramped back allys, packed full of cafes and small restaurants, you can barely walk by. Another cool thing is that in Melborne most of the shopping and eating is open untill after midnight every day. So its not surprising at 1 or 2 am for still a bunch of people to be walking around doing their shopping, and eating at cafes. After shopping and walking around downtown we went to and Aussi rules football game. The game is a little bit hectic, but its good entertainment. The stadium had about 110,000 seats and it was in almost a perfect circle. It was absolutely massive. And they say it gets packed out for the big games. After the game we all went out for dinner. After dinner we went to this comedy show at the

comedy festival they were having. And after that we went to the casino. By the time our heads hit the pillow it was 3 am, it was a long day, but definitally a fun way to experinece melborne. The next day we had easter lunch with Hanna's family at the pub?!? ( i guess there is a first time for everything) It wasn't my typical easter dinner, but it was fun all the same. We were all tired so we just hung our around the house and then went to laigon street for dinner. Laigon street is packed full of italian cafes that are again open untill really late. Our flight the next morning took of at 6:15 again, so it was another early start. We all had a great time in Melborne.
Last weekend was my Birthday. It was on Friday night, the guys and I took it pretty easy. I made my own birthday dinner (like i said, theres a first time for everything) and we all hung out at home and watched some movies. It was nice just to take it easy for a night. Then on Sunday morning, we all went out for a nice

breakfast sponsored by my Grandpa, He usually takes me out for breakfast, but since that was going to be a little more pricy than usual this year, he sent some money for all of us to go out!
This week we had Tom's cousin and her friend over for a few nights. Toms cousin came here in September, and her friend flew out to travel with her for a month. We didn't have much room in our apartment, but there was room for them to sleep on the floor. It was nice to have some girls around...they helped clean up and did the dishes! The downside, was the bathroom wasn't avaliable whenever we wanted it to be! We had fun though. We went out to the zoo on Tuesday, then had a barbeque on the beach on Tuesday night. Wednesday we went downtown sydney, looked at some cathedrals, and the operah house, and did some shopping. They left early Thursday morning.
The job situation is still the same. Dan is still working at the sketchy advertising place...but he got a nice little surprise from his boss for this saturday. His boss has to go to a wedding with
Us and the girls at the biggest cathedral in Sydney
his wife, and the two of them are planning on getting completely drunk, so his boss asked dan if he would be their personal chauffer for the day. Since the guy drives a new mercedes e500, it was an easy answer for Dan. So dan gets this mercedes all day, and just had to make sure he picks them up and drops them off at the rite times, other than that, he is free to do what he wants, and he is getting paid very well for it. Not bad for his first driving experience in Australia eh? Tom is still working temporary jobs, he is getting work every day though, so that is good. Neil is working full time at rebel sport. And i am currently enjoying the life of leisure...unemployed. I am going to be doing some volunteering at the church for a while, but its taking forever to organize because of the schedule of the guy i will be working for. So i am going to see if i can get a week of temp work while i wait. If not, there is always tons of cleaning to do around here!
We are planning our next trip to carins sometime in mid May. We will be scuba diving and seeing the great barrior reef. Its going to be tons of fun.
I think that is it for now. Keep in touch.
