NOOOOOOOOOO!! Bad news, well for me anyway...i have to finally leave Newcastle.
I have been working/traveling NSW for 8 months now and i am loving it here in Newcastle. Im having the best time since i have been up here. Its the people that are here (Backpackers Newcastle) that make it a place to remember.
I don't want to leave.
I am Currently staying in Backpackers Newcastle, i have been here for almost 6 weeks.
Sean and myself have our own room, it sleeps 7 people but we have had the room for almost 4 weeks and the only person to stay was a Chinese guy who worked night shift.
Work in Newcastle is pretty good, schools have some good meterage and they are close to each other, so im not driving as much and therefore not spending a bundle on petrol.
I finally got my camera fixed, it had to have a new lens, but it works now.
When we first arrived at Backpackers Newcastle, there were people who had been staying here for weeks and even months, it was hard to fit in at the start but eventually I got to know everyone which is good cause that's why i am liking it so
much here, the people i have met are fantastic.
The staff that work here are also great, they make everyone at home.
So i have been in the Newcastle area for about 7 weeks now....what have i been doing here? Well apart from living the life in this hostel i did manage to checkout Blackbutt Reserve, Which in my opinion was pretty boring, didn't last too long there. But that's because unless you haven't seen Kangaroos, Koalas, Wombats, Birds and Emu's then it's just another park in the middle of Newcastle....but that's my opinion.
Sara (Sean's Girlfriend) came up for a weekend and we managed to get to the beach for a couple of hours, the water was so nice. As well as catching a big breakfast in Darby street.
I did hit the night life a couple of times, once with Madeline and a Canadian girl (Steph) where we hit up some live band action at the Lass followed by a couple of drinks at the Kent on Beaumont ST.
Back to the Hostel again...We had a surprise Birthday for Eileen, a Irish Backpacker who has been here since February, where Madeline did an amazing job making a cupcake birthday cake.
With free food
at the Hostel on Mondays and Free food at the Brewery on Thursdays, it became a weekly ritual. On Thursday every week the Brewery provides meals for all 3 Hostels in Newcastle, they also provide a trivia night which is also fun.
I got my Indian Visa back, well excited.
My plans are as follows...i checkout on Sunday and Drive roughly 11 hours to Nurmurkah, a small Victorian country town where Mum and Dad are for the week, this will be the only chance i get to see them before i go. Then Monday morning i head into Melbourne where i finalise all documents and shopping for a couple of days.
Wednesday i fly to Perth for a week where i will catchup with my good mate Joel, and then on the 24th of November i fly into Dehli where hopefully i will Catchup with another good friend Vidur.
I will be making my way down to Mumbai where i will be meeting Carole and will be traveling with her for a bit. I have the aim to spend a weekin Sri Lanka, before heading to Nepal by Mid January...and fly back to Melbourne on the 7th of March.
So keep checking for regular blog
updates because there might be quite a few over the next 4 months.
I do not have the photos ready to post with the blog, so you will have to wait till i get back....sorry
