Found our weay to the car hire place at the Mecure Centre, then went back to get luggage from Hotel. Had a lovely breakfast. Collected our car, a white Ford Falcon, very nice. Automatic. Drove out of Sydney over the Harbour Bridge, and headed north. Straight up the Pacific Highway. It was like driving through the amazon rain forest - very lush. Lots of interesting things for sale on the roadside along the way. As well as vineyards and wineries, there was "avos" (avocados) figs, tomatoes, mushrooms, all manner of other fruit, puppies, guinea pigs, birds andn horses!!!!
Arrived at Port Stephens Motor Lodge, Nelson Bay. Went to shops to get some food and beer etc. big shock, bacardi is $38 a bottle!! Took a walk down to the beach and quay. Lots of choice for the dolphin spotting cruises, which is why we are stayin here.
I walked into town which was very pleasant, and chris went back to room.
Nice room, slept well.
