I felt honored to be asked to be guest author on Andy and Caroline’s blog. Especially knowing how dedicated the Trentfield’s are to regularly providing updates so that their friends and family can follow their journey. I was specifically asked to write about a visit I did with Andy to Woodstock - the place that Andy and Caroline consider their second home due to the special place it holds in their hearts. I jumped at the chance seeing as I enjoy writing and I thoroughly enjoyed being at Woodstock, even for the short time we were there. DAY 443 I could hear Andy stirring, the light was already breaking through and a low glow of orange was tingeing the sky. Not long after the alarm went off, I did not groan, Andy got out of bed and I followed, it was 6.00am, a now unusually early start for the pair of us. Andy put the kettle on for a cup of tea while I got dressed and grabbed my camera, by 6.18 we were out of the door and sat in the Patrol, with a block of cheese. This morning we are off to have a dabble with the fishing rod again, Andy had re rigged the line last night so we set off to the low bridge over the Murrumbidgee where we went last night and tried again. DAY 429 Well sorry to say another beautiful day this morning, I had the most bizarre nights sleep, I woke at 3.15am and looked out of the window with sleepy eyes, Caroline was hearding the pigs in and as I looked out in to the blackness I was sure I could see Helen standing on the lawn looking at the stars, with all the dogs running around. I woke again at 4.15am and strangely enough Helen was still standing out on the lawn looking at the stars, so I thought. When I woke, I could see the big conifer tree exactly where Helen had been standing on the lawn and I am sure the dogs are in their respective places, so it was a strange nights sleep to say the least. DAY 426 I cannot say much about today because there really isn’t much to say, it’s been a fairly quiet day, we were going to pop in and see the activity in the shearing shed, but today the opportunity seemed to escape us. I found Andy and Helen in the kitchen, Andy sitting at the laptop tippy tappying away and Helen had just come in for some breakfast after an early start sheep shifting as the Shearer’s are coming in today. Kimba is lolling around on the veranda, who can blame her? She has walked all the way back from Hazeldene this morning as she sort of ran off so had to find her own way home as she had been helping to bring the sheep in. DAY 423 No sooner than I am out of bed and sat in the kitchen having a cup of tea, I see that Susan’s car is all packed up and ready to hit the road back to Canberra. This means that today the city dogs are going home. I am going to miss both Misha and Rocky they have warmed to us over the last couple of weeks and as the other dogs do these two have their own personalities and it has been a pleasure to have them around. I wonder how they will feel about going home. The last two weeks have seen their confidence grow from wanting to come indoors all the time to dogs that like to venture beyond the veranda and out into the paddocks.
