Nice friendly place just outside of town. Free shuttle bus, bicycles and body boards available!

Byron Bay, sadly, was only a 24 hour stop over on our way between Brisbane and Sydney. We arrived at 11 am and set out straight for the gorgeous beach. However, it wasn't so perfect afterall, as there was a mas invasion of bluebottle jellyfish and just seeing the hordes of people running from the sea into the first-aid tent to douse themselves in vinegar was enough to put us off entering the sea. Dan plucked up the courage after a few hours during a "lull" in stings only to be mildly stung himself after 2 minutes in there!! So sunbathing was the main order of the day here!!

Byron Bay is a nice little town, a bit hippyish, but very friendly with some great deals on food and drink.

So really not much else to report from here....but for sure we'll want to be returning one day in the future!!

So onwards and southwards to Sydney

next where we meet up with Becky and Phill from the UK for what may be a week long drink-fest, especially with Australia Day (mate) just around the corner!!
