After a long drive down from Noosa we arrived in Byron Bay and dropped our stuff off at the hotel...Sally, Scott's mom was basically our travel agent and set up some GREAT accomodations...Next, we drove to Nimbin for a look around...It's dubbed the Amsterdam of Australia...Lot's of hippies and other loose living paraphanalia...When we got back to Byron we went for a Kebab...Bay Kebab Shop...Noted as one of the best Kebabs in NSW and Scotty claims all of Australia...maybe even the world...I have my reservations about that comment...It's not some title you throw around so lightly...The next day we went to the beach which was sooo nice...The sand is sooo fine that it squeaks when you walk on it...We layed out for a while and played in the waves...Scotty took us up to a lighthouse that has a gorgeous view of the bay...Useless bit of trivia...But it's the easternmost point of the mainland of Australia...That night we went to dinner at a restaurant called the Balcony...One of the best steaks ever by Elizabeth's standards...And she knows steak...That night we went to a backpacker bar called Cheeky Monkey's...Basically it's the biggest dive bar anyone can ask for...They encourage everyone to dance on the benches and tables...The next day we went to a different beach for a day of surfing...I got up a few times but the current was too strong and I quickly joined Elizabeth on the sand for some more bronzing...That night we grabbed some Thai food and went back to Cheeky Monkey's...The next day we got up super early to make the long long long drive to Sydney...Love and miss you all!!!
