Left home at 9.30am on a beautiful, warm sunny day and made our way towards the Blue Mountains. Stopped at Leura for lunch and nearly died of cold. It was only 5ºC. Couldn’t believe it! Despite the chill in the air, we pulled in to Katoomba to view the magnificent Three Sisters. The sun was shining and the view as clear as crystal. Quite an awesome sight. Having bought a warm scarf and some gloves, we rushed back to the car for warmth. We arrived at McKeowans Rest at Jenolan welcomed by hosts Brian and Sandra with a delicious roast lamb dinner. This is a five start B & B which we highly recommend to anyone considering a quiet retreat where they will be completely spoilt by the view, the venue and the service..
