On Monday, we drove from Morehead, Kentucky, to Little Rock, Arkansas, by means of Nashville and Memphis. It was a loooong day! We had planned to drive straight through, but we got caught on the Bourbon Trail. Not long after leaving Morehead, we saw a sign for the Wild Turkey Bourbon Distillery. I'd never had Bourbon. So, why not? I mean, 131 proof Bourbon is a good way to start the day, isn't it? Phew! Well, that added about one and a half hours to a ten plus hour driving day. But I did buy something to bring back home, so it was all worth it!
It was time for lunch as we were getting ready to leave Kentucky, and we decided to give into our urge, and have... Kentucky Fried Chicken. Now, you have to understand that KFC down here and KFC at home have only one thing in common. They both serve chicken. We had the buffet. Yes, that's right! Now, here's a little roadtrip trivia. Who can guess what the "green stuff" is on the plate in the picture? There's also a plate of "fried stuff" by itself. I wonder who might be able to figure that
one out. I was quite surprised myself when I tasted it!
So we drove, and drove, and drove. Kentucky and Tennessee are beautiful states. It is so green and lush. I don't think our pictures will do it justice, but I tried!
As we were approaching Memphis, we stopped for supper at a Chinese and Japanese restaurant. I know, not traditional, but we wanted something different. Oh, my! The sushi was delicious! No pictures 'cause we were starving and had to hurry, 'cause we were already hours behind schedule.
We ended up at our hotel in Little Rock around midnight. And today (Tuesday), we are going to make our way to Elk City, Oklahoma. Not too bad, around 700 kms. Much better than yesterday!
Until tomorrow...
Cheers!

Green stuff
That green stuff looks like steamed or fried collard greens... I'm enjoying reading about your adventure and seeing the pics! :)
