Colorado River (near Page)Lake Powell - not really a famous turistic place, but definitevely a spot popular with the locals... Seems there's no such place as this for water sports and leisure...
Lake Powell is a man made lake. Several decades ago, after a lot of debates and discussions Glen Canyon Dam has been built in order to control the Colorado River flow down the line and guarantee the water in the dryer months. At the same time the dam is also a huge power supplier. On the other side, towns had to be abandoned so the lake could be made and there were a lot of discussions about the eco side of the story... Right or not, we don't know, every story has two sides - but the truth stays - this place is really nice and worth to stop at. The blue water in the middle of the Colorado plateau offers some really amazing views! ...and, let's not forget, it looks and is refreshing. So we took a dip in the lake and it was just great! 😊
Another great place around here, in our opinion not 'known' enough is the Antelope Canyon. This place is in the middle of
the Navajo land so the only way to come here is with a Navajo guide. This small and A-shaped canyon gives best foto opportunities when the light rays shimmer in... We could have stayed there for hours just looking for the perfect shot... Unfortunately we had to leave because the tour is with limited amount of people and also limited time. 😞 But we still could get few nice shots!

Hoi Jan Willem en Tajana, Opnieuw weer prachtige fotos , leuk om te ontvangen! En wat een gravel op die auto, het lijkt wel een heel groot tennisveld met bergen en dalen! Komen zojuist weer uit Groningen , alwaar Lotte ons de gehele dag weer leuk bezig hield! Het is hier nu aardig mooi weer, deze week blijft het ook goed! Volgens jullie reisplan zijn jullie nu op weg naar Las Vegas, nog heel veel plezier en tot de volgende keer! Lieve groeten pama
