The Kenai River out of Soldotna is a world reknown river for catching the big King Salmon, and silver and red salmon as well. The confluence of the Russian River and the Kenai River is the most well known spot as the salmon come up these two rivers by the thousands to spawn. Right now there are close to 300,000 salmon in the river and the banks are crowded with fishermen and fisherwomen hoping to take home a sizeable catch. The Reds are here now and the Silvers will be here in about 10 days. The last catching of the Kings will end on July 31st for this year.
