Day 9-Beaufort to Wrightsville Beach

Torturous! Slow and torturous is the ICW from Beaufort to Wrightsville Beach due to the residential areas. We thought we’d make it to SC today be we were sadly mistaken Don’t get me worng, NC is beautiful, even in the Intercoastal, but my god was it slow. Almost idle speed the whole way! I think we made about 50-60 miles today. Hopefully tomorrow we will be able to make up some time although it looks like another front is coming through so I’ll be happy if we get anywhere tomorrow.

After an awesome dinner at the Bluewater Restaurant near the marina we went out to the beach (about a mile walk) and had some drinks at a small sports bar and then headed to the Red Dog Salon. Walt and I briefly thought about moving here years ago and we took a weekend trip up here to check it out. When we were here the last time we had drinks at Red Dog so it was nice to be able to visit it again!
